This review is for geezers. I decided not to wait for my CRT-type Mitsubishi TV to totally fail, and looked around at the available modern models. I figured that since I don’t watch that much off the air TV, I’d be plenty happy with a plasma model. However, I found this Sony LCD in my price range, and the specs made it sound pretty good. Anyway, how could I go wrong with a Sony? I read the reviews, and folks were talking about light bleed into the black areas and uneven edge LED lighting. They might be right, but you couldn’t prove it by me. I had a pretty large TV before by the old standards, but turns out, 40 inches is really big! I’ve watched cable, satellite, and DVD pictures and they are all beautiful. The colors are true, the pictures are crisp (especially text), and I detect no motion blur (the 240 Hz refresh rate might have a lot to do with that). Physical setup was easy, but I’ve yet to figure out how to have all signals come in on the same input, so I have to switch inputs to watch a DVD. When I tried daisy-chaining everything, the picture quality appeared to suffer. I’ll figure this out eventually, I’m sure. The logical setup is practically automatic, except I got a bunch of digital channels (i.e. 8.2, etc.) that my cable company swears they are not sending me, and I don’t have an antenna of any type. Mystifying – maybe the cable is acting as an antenna? If this matters to you, the TV itself looks beautiful, but they all look pretty much alike, don’t they? I run the sound output through an amp, but I tested using just the built-in speakers and it sounded acceptable. The various settings for the aspect ratio all stretch or chop the picture except for “normal”, but even using that, sometimes the picture has a black band top and bottom (as well as at the sides), and sometimes it doesn’t. Other times it’s obvious that extreme right and left edges are being truncated on the satellite feed, but they appear normal using the cable. You would think by now that all of this would be figured out and fixed, but it apparently has yet to be. The instructions say that the remote is programmable for my DVD, amp and satellite receiver, but the remote I received is different from what’s in those instructions, and doesn’t have the same buttons. I use a Logitech Harmony anyway, so I use that. With more equipment, I can have Internet access and 3-D. We’ll see. If you are a television expert or have “golden” eyes, you might be able to find some faults with this set. I am neither, and I am completely happy. Part of the honeymoon process is that I’ve been watching more stuff, just to enjoy the big, bright picture. That’ll probably fade – at least I hope it does. business insurance quote

If you want to learn from a Poker expert you might as well do it with one of the best in the game, T.J. Cloutier. I play AOL “free” poker online and join the tournaments on a regular basis. I did pretty good but now I know what I’m doing right and what I’m doing wrong, plus understanding some of the strategies that go with any given situation. When you’re playing the game a text box and/or video of T.J. will come up when your turn comes and will give you a recommenation. For those who don’t want advice – you can easily turn this feature off in the “options” area of the program. I ordered this mainly for the tutorial and he answers pretty much everything you want to know about Poker. In the options area you can speed up the play at the table – plus….at any time you can right click your mouse and it will fast forward to your next move – I LOVE THAT! For the price I paid via Amazon plus learning from Poker Hall of Fame player T.J. Cloutier – I am very satisfied with this purchase. If you want to know if the moves you’re making are the right ones at any stage of the game and play several types of Poker games and tournaments…then I would highly recommend getting World Class Poker with T.J. Great program and going thru Amazon I saved about $[...] = outstanding deal! home insurance quotes

I bought this TV online during black friday for 1500$ delivered. Right out of the box the TV was simply amazing. I did not have to change any color, brightness, contrast settings. It chooses the right picture mode based on the content. Some people have complained about the sound, but I found it to be sufficient for my room (15 feet by 30 feet). I like the fact that the stand provides about 20 degree movement on each side. Before this I bought a Vizio and the picture quality on that was horrible (I obviously returned it). This is one of the best TV out there if you are not looking for 3D. Some of the things that I found not that great: * The factory setting for the screen size cuts about 3-5% of the picture from all sides on HDMI input including computer, XBOX, DVD, Dish HD Receiver. It took me some time to realize that I was missing some of the picture. You need to set “Screen” to “full pizel” to get complete HDMI picture. I am not sure why they would set the default to setting that would cut the picture. * Netflix streaming is ok, I would rather connect computer directly. Because the in-built software only displays instant queue. You must add movie to instant queue using computre and I have also noticed a lag (sometimes hours) before the instant queue gets updated. * USB port on the TV plays photos, music and home videos. However, tt recognizes FAT32 drives only. There is also limited support of the file format. It played AVCHD straight out of the camcorder, but did not play TS files that I created by combining the AVCHD clips. Nor did it play DV AVI Type 1 or Type 2 format files. It plays the photos and music very well, no issues there. It is also DLNA server so you can stream content from home computer. Overall very happy with the picture and sound quality of the TV. cheap auto insurance
