46 of 48 people found the following review helpful: Great TV, May 4, 2010By (Chicago, IL USA) – This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL-52EX700 52-Inch 1080P 120Hz LED HDTV, Black (Electronics) Just a quick review after I upgraded from my old LCD Projection 50″ 1080i TV to this new Sony LED model 3 weeks ago. Just for the fun of it; before I switched them out I left them side by side just to do some comparisons (I just put a new lamp in my old TV so it was at it brightest in years). When I switched to TV mode on both using my HDTV AT&T UVerse 1080i cable, the comparison was interesting. Overall the Sony LED TV had a sharper and brighter image but there were a few channels where I just didn’t see a difference. This I blame on the cable being 1080i and possible some channels using inferior HD Cameras??? Then I played a DVD on each TV and the Sony defiantly had the brighter sharper image. Lastly I threw in a Blue Ray, and this is where this new Sony LED TV blew away my old TV. My first words were “Wow that looks great”. I also just downloaded a 1080p movie and got the same “Wow” result while watching it. I did tell myself that if I didn’t notice a large enough difference I would be returning this TV and waiting another year for newer models (Since I just bought a new lamp for my old TV). Well after 3 weeks my old TV is now sitting in the basement waiting for someone to watch it, and I think it’s going to be a long time. So, overall after 3 weeks I am extremely happy with this Sony TV.Anything I didn’t like? Just 2 minor things: there are 4 HDMI cable connections but only 2 in back – the other 2 are on the side. It’s not a big deal but if you have your Cable box, Blue Ray Player and your Video Game Console all hooked up with HDMI cables; one of those cables is going to be sticking out of the side of your TV at all time – you can bend the cable back so it’s not sticking out that much. But, as a person who wants all his cables hidden – this is a little annoying. The second and very minor; the stand is little blah, not a big deal but I would think they could come up with something better on their 2010 models since the rest of this TV looks so great. Update #1:I saw someone asked about how many Watts this TV used. So I brought home my Watt Meter from work and did some testing. This new LED TV used 75 Watts on average when on. I also hooked up my old LCD Projection TV and it used around 195 when on. Pretty big difference.Update #2: After 2 months of watching things like the Stanley Cup, World Cup Soccer plus a few other movies at different places; I have to say this TV has the best picture of the lot. Especially when compared to older models from a few years ago. But, once again some channels just don’t look as good as others. The World Cup soccer games looked incredible, a friend even asked if this was a new 3D TV he thought the picture was so good. Then watching Shrek on TNT HD looked subpar when compared to the lowly DVD version I own (probably considerably worse then the Blue-ray version). Guess the point is make sure your HD Signal is good if you want the best HD picture on this TV, you can really see the difference between a bad HD channel and a good HD channel.Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? | Leave a Reply Your email address will not be published. OUTSTANDING HDTV FOR THE $$$, 2010-10-04This review is from: VIZIO E420VO 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, BlackI bought this tv brand new for $538 at Sam’s Club ( + membership in good-standing). It has a beautiful, clean, clear picture, rich colors, easy to understand menu options. It was out of the box and set up in less than 10 minutes. It is light weight, & can be hung from the wall like a picture with the proper tv mounting apparatus. It is an excellent choice for WATCHING tv which, is what I bought it for. It has good, clear internal speakers but, they do not produce that “movie-theater sound”. It does have the ports needed for hooking up an additional sound system, dvd, etc., if desired. Being technologically challenged as I am, I do not completely understand all the specs on this tv. I do understand that this a fairly basic HDTV and it’s great for just sitting & watching, no gaming, no internet, no tricks. It does have a USB port but, from what I understand, that is only for viewing photographs straight from a digital camera. For my basic requirements, this has been the perfect tv. auto insurance quotes

Good value, 2010-09-04This review is from: VIZIO E420VO 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, BlackI picked up this TV the other night from Sam’s Club. With their Labor Day sale, I got it for $498. What a deal!Hook up was a breeze. It has component inputs that I could use to hook up my HD DirecTV receiver to, a Playstation 2 to the composite input, and soon a Blu-Ray player to one of the HDMI jacks. So far the picture quality is great for HD and SD programming. The blacks are deep and the other colors are vibrant. I bought this expecting the picture to be like a budget TV, but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks. I didn’t expect it to even come close to my $1500 Samsung (52″ @ Costco). Finally I really don’t notice the 120hz difference. My Samsung is 120 and I’ve turned it off since it gives me a headache, but I don’t see any difference in picture quality.Hope this review helps… infinity auto insurance

Satisfied… for now!, 2010-09-06This review is from: VIZIO E420VO 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, BlackI actually was saving up for a Sharp Aquos 55″ LED Edgelit 1080P HDTV from here on amazon, but just busted on a random trip to walmart. I decided to just go for this TV and spend the extra money on a new PS3 Slim, and a couple blu-ray movies. This HDTV does not have the newer tech, like advanced refresh rates (60/120/240 hrz) or LED lighting versus flourescent bulb lighting in this one, but it DOES have what is considered by most now to be the standard for HDTV viewing, and that is 1)1080P full high-def resoultion, and 2) at least 42″ in viewable size. Blu-Ray disc playback via Playstation 3 worked fine, but I have seen better 1080p images on slightly more expensive sets. This TV does a DECENT DVD-upscaling job via the Playstation 3, but again, I have seen better and can notice the difference right away. My buddy’s 47″ Samsung 1080p 120hz does a much more noticeable job of DVD upscaling, proving its the TV that does the job, not the component (in this case, Playstation 3). All in all, for the average user, these quibbles will not make too much of a difference, as I am leaning toward the videophile side, so my eye is already trained to spot these differences. Don’t let this dissuade you, this is a great HDTV for the money and will satisfy most people looking for a decently-priced ticket into the HD world. business insurance
